THY KINGDOM COME 2020

In 2020, we will again be joining in with the national Thy Kingdom Come Week of Prayer. We'll be starting on Sunday 24 May and will finish on Sunday 31 May, Pentecost. This prayer week will look different as we cannot gather together in person, but we are excited about all God will do as we pray from our homes.

On this page you will find some activities for you to use during the week, as well as links to wider resources. Use the links below to jump to the sections.

Upper Room Oxford
We are excited to be joining in with churches from across the city of Oxford for a 'virtual prayer room' that runs from Ascension Day (21 May) to Pentecost (31). The vision for Upper Room is that, rather than running their own 24/7 prayer rooms, churches come together online to one virtual upper room, covering our city in prayer. You can find out more information and access resources on the website, as well as signing up for a slot: www.upperroomoxford.org

Audio reflections
We have recorded a series of audio reflections between Ascension Day and Pentecost, featuring a reflection and piece of music provided by members of the church family. You can listen to the series here, with new episodes released daily.

Resources for prayer
You are invited to join us for online prayer at the following points during the week:

  • Tuesday morning, 7.30am: Seek First
  • Tuesday morning, 8.30am: Morning Prayer
  • Wednesday evening, 8pm, Evening Prayer
  • Thursday morning, 8.30am, Morning Prayer

For details of how to join these meetings, click here. We will be using the liturgy produced for Thy Kingdom Come, which you can access here; you can also use this booklet during the week as you pray.

This document gives some tips on how you might go on a prayer walk around your community - but please be aware of social distancing rules if you do so.
