Time Out for Parents - The Teenage Years
A seven-week course for parents of children age 11-19
Starting Tuesday 8 October 2019
Parenting is a tough job – a rollercoaster ride of joy and fun, anxiety and heartache. The teenage years can be especially difficult! This course, produced by national charity Care for the Family, is an opportunity to reflect on our parenting and learn new skills. It’s suitable for all mums, dads and carers, whether parenting together, alone or in a step family.
The course is mixture of presentation, DVD material and group discussion and is both informative and fun. It will be led by Vicky Lavy, Care for the Family facilitator, and Alison Kerr, local GP. You can see more information and a short video about the course on the Care for the Family website

Parents on previous courses have said:
‘It was brilliant. Each week I went home feeling great. Didn’t feel so alone and that I wasn’t the only parent in the group struggling.’
‘This has been a sanity lifeline. We felt desperate and out of control. Small changes and relaxing have made so much difference. We are grateful!’
‘Taught me so much about the teenage perspective and helped me love my children more.’
