Trainee Cutteslowe Youth and Community Worker – One Year Fixed Term Contract

We are looking for a Trainee Youth and Community Worker who is passionate about community transformation to join the Cutteslowe Team. He/she will take the lead on several youth groups but will also oversee or contribute to other youth/community groups. The Trainee Youth and Community Worker would join an existing team with approximately 30 volunteers under the oversight of the Cutteslowe Team Leader.

St Andrew’s Church started detached youth work in Cutteslowe, an area of relative deprivation in wealthy North Oxford, 14 years ago but it has now developed into a ministry for people of all ages throughout the week, culminating in a weekly worshipping community (Cutteslowe Connected). We have been called to work with God to see every person in this community flourish and ultimately to see the estate transformed. St Andrew’s is committed to this long term vision.

We are looking for a Trainee Youth and Community Worker with:
  • experience of working with young people ideally within a context similar to Cutteslowe;
  • a passion for mission and community transformation;
  • the ability to build relationships with those they come into contact;
  • the ability to share the gospel in a culturally relevant way;
  • a desire to learn and grow as a youth and community worker
